Brief Biography


Dr. B. Mohanty

Brahmanand Mohanty received his BSC in Physics from Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education, India; Master of Engineering (Energy Technology) from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; and Ph.D. from Institut National Polytechnique (INP) de Toulouse, France. He was a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (C.N.R.S.), India, in 1985.

He joined Energy Field of Study, AIT as Affiliated Faculty, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor from 1986-1996, and since 1996 his is a Visiting Faculty at AIT. Since 1992 he is also a part time Regional Adviser for Asia for the French Environment and Energy Management Agency. 

Dr. Mohanty teaches, rational use of energy in industry, design of energy systems, energy auditing and management, thermodynamics of gas fired power plants. He also guides thesis and research work of students, published more than eighteen book chapters/proceedings; more than twenty nine international journal articles, and more than eighty eight papers in conferences, seminars and workshops.
